MORE THAN A TRAINING CAMP

There are places that are perfect for learning rally. And then there is Namibia.

The vast open spaces, endless dunes, constantly changing sand and spectacular landscapes create an environment unlike almost anywhere else in the world. What makes the Namibia Roadbook Camp special and different, isn't simply where we ride, it's what happens while we're there.

In 2026, riders arrived in Namibia from all over the world, with different levels of experience and very different goals. Some were preparing for their first rally. Others were chasing bigger races and long-term Dakar ambitions.

Over the course of the camp, we watched those riders change.

We watched riders who were intimidated by sand begin to understand it. We watched people who struggled in the dunes learn to read the terrain, choose better lines and ride with confidence. We watched navigation improve as the roadbooks became progressively more difficult.

The NRC became about much more than riding motorcycles.

It became about the mistakes, the breakthroughs, the recoveries, the stories around the dinner table, the incredible places we visited and the friendships created through sharing difficult experiences together.

That is why the NRC is different.

We don't just go there to ride motorcycles. We to the NRC to experience Namibia, challenge ourselves, learn together and leave as better riders than when we arrived.

One of my camp mottoes are “Arrive as strangers, leave as friend”.

TWO CAMPS. TWO DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES. ONE NRC.

For 2027, we are planning two Namibia Roadbook Camps.

They are designed for different riders and different stages of the rally journey.

FEBRUARY 2027 - ADVANCED CAMP

5 Days | Dates TBC | Limited Entries

The February camp is for riders who already have experience in sand and dunes and want to take their riding and navigation to the next level.

This is not an introduction to sand riding.

You should arrive comfortable riding in sand and capable of riding dunes independently. Rather than spending several days teaching the fundamentals, we can immediately begin working on improving technique, efficiency, terrain reading, navigation and decision-making.

The focus will be on riding and navigating. Less instruction, more training.

We will combine challenging terrain with increasingly difficult roadbooks, using Namibia as a training ground to develop the skills required when riding and navigating simultaneously.

If you already have the fundamentals and want to be pushed further, this is the Namibia camp for you.

 

AUGUST 2027 - THE COMPLETE NAMIBIA ROADBOOK CAMP

The August camp is our complete Namibia experience and follows the developmental format that proved so successful in 2026.

You do not need to arrive as an expert dune rider.

We will teach you.

The camp begins with three dedicated days of sand and dune rider development.

We start with understanding how sand works, how your motorcycle reacts to it, body positioning, momentum, line selection, climbing, descending, cresting dunes, getting stuck, recovering yourself and, most importantly, understanding why we use these techniques.

As your ability develops, so does the terrain.

From there we transition into navigation and begin combining those riding skills with increasingly challenging roadbooks.

The camp includes five intensive days of roadbook navigation, including difficult navigation through the dunes and terrain that requires you to think, ride and navigate simultaneously.

Each training day combines classroom instruction with practical riding, allowing us to explain concepts first and then immediately put them into practice on the motorcycle.

But the August camp isn't only about training.

There will also be time to race, explore Namibia, experience this extraordinary country, relax together and build the friendships that have become such an important part of the Namibia Roadbook Camp.

If you want the complete journey, from developing your sand and dune riding to putting those skills to work on challenging roadbooks, August is for you. You are also able to join segments if you can not or do not want to do the entire 10 days.

WHY NRC?

Rally isn't simply about being able to ride a motorcycle fast.

It is about being able to ride while navigating, thinking, making decisions, managing your motorcycle and managing yourself, often while tired, frustrated or under pressure.

NRC gives us an extraordinary environment in which to develop all of those skills.

RIDING

Sand and dunes expose weaknesses very quickly.

Momentum, balance, throttle control, body position, line choice and commitment all matter.

Instead of simply telling you to "go faster" or "stay on the gas," we want you to understand why the motorcycle behaves the way it does in sand and how your inputs affect it.

Understanding creates confidence. Confidence creates better decisions. Better decisions make you a better rider.

NAVIGATION

Knowing how to read a roadbook is only the beginning.

Real rally navigation happens while you are riding.

You need to interpret information, understand the terrain, monitor distance and CAP, identify the correct track, recognize when something doesn't make sense, and make decisions while continuing to control the motorcycle.

The roadbooks become progressively more demanding so that navigation isn't simply something you understand in the classroom.

It becomes something you can actually do under pressure.

SELF-MANAGEMENT

One of the most overlooked rally skills is learning to manage yourself.

Everyone makes mistakes.

Everyone gets tired.

Everyone gets frustrated.

The difference is what happens next.

Can you recognize a mistake without allowing it to become three mistakes? Can you stop, reset and solve the problem? Can you conserve energy when necessary? Can you recover your motorcycle when nobody is standing beside you to help?

These skills become increasingly important as rallies become longer, harder and more remote.

CONFIDENCE

Confidence doesn't come from somebody telling you that you can do something.

It comes from proving to yourself that you can.

Every difficult dune you cross, every navigation problem you solve and every mistake you recover from becomes another piece of evidence.

That is what we are ultimately trying to build in Namibia.

Not simply a rider who has completed a training camp.

A rider who understands more, can do more, and knows what they are capable of when things become difficult.

We deliberately keep Namibia small.

There is a limit to how many riders we can properly coach, support and put on motorcycles, and we will not compromise the quality of the experience simply to accommodate more people.
